Dogs go to shelters for a variety of reasons. Some are strays. Some are rescued from homes or other shelters. And some, like this week's Furry Friday dog Marly, are owner surrenders. Marly's owners learned that she suffered from bladder stones. The surgery was going to be too expensive. So they turned Marly over to the great people at Safe Haven of Iowa County. They'll get Marly her surgery and then put her up for adoption.

Marly is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu who loves to cuddle. She is looking for a lap to lay on and watch TV. She came from a home with other dogs so she would do well in a home with other animals. Marly is such a sweetie. Once she has her surgery and heals, which should only take a week or so, she will make a great pet and companion!

If you want to bring Marly home for the holidays, she is currently at Safe Haven of Iowa County.
