Stories like the one about Lilly break our hearts. Its the one downside of our Furry Friday segments. Some of these dogs have had a rough go of it. Lilly has been at Safe Haven of Iowa County now for about a year. She was rescued from Indiana where she was a stray, and she was not in good shape. She was skin and bones and basically had no hair left on her body.

But thanks to the wonderful people at Safe Haven, Lilly got a second chance at life. They nursed her back to health and now most of her hair is back. She still has some medical issues that need to be handled by her new owner. But Lilly deserves a forever home. She has been to hell and back and is still a sweet and compassionate dog. Lilly is around 7 years old and is a Boxer/Pit mix. She loves everyone she meets. She doesn't do great with cats, but has made friends with several other dogs during her time at Safe Haven.

If you think that you could give Lilly the life and home that she deserves, please fill out the forms with Safe Haven of Iowa County today. Lilly is waiting to go home, and she can't wait to meet you!

Also Safe Haven is holding their annual Autumn Cookie Walk on Saturday. This year's event will be drive through only due to the pandemic. It will take place from 9AM to noon on Saturday!
