98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Alyssa Hilby

Every Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder during our 'First Responder Friday' segment! The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we're honoring Alyssa Hilby, who was nominated by Teddy Perez! The entry reads:

"About four years ago, Alyssa saved my son Hunter from a hit-and-run on Highway 13. She embodies the saying 'first in, last out.' She's the first female fire chief of the Central City, Iowa Fire Department, and she goes out of her way to help people in her community and county. She is the best at her job and she loves her friends and family."

Congratulations to Alyssa! We thank you for your dedication and service to our community!
