Brain & Courtlin’s ‘First Responder Friday’ Honors Mike Norman

Every Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder during their 'First Responder Friday' segment! The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today's honoree is Mike Norman, who was nominated by Terri Oppedahl! The entry reads:

"Mike has been a Linn County Deputy for many years, and it's been his dream job for as long as I can remember. He takes his job very seriously, but also believes in treating everyone with respect. Mike was awarded the Life Saving Award by Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner a few years ago, after he found an inmate unresponsive in their cell. His actions in the situation, along with a couple of his coworkers, were credited with saving that inmate's life. Day in and day out, he continues to serve our community diligently, fairly, and with empathy. I have come in contact with several of his colleagues, and he is always held in highest regards."
