Brain & Courtlin’s ‘First Responder Friday’ Honors Chris Liscum

Every Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder during their 'First Responder Friday' segment! The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today's honoree is Chris Liscum, who was nominated by Kate Kuehl! The entry reads:

"Lt. Chris Liscum has served as Firefighter/EMT on the Hiawatha Fire Department for over 12 years. His dedication to job doesn’t stop when his assigned shift ends. Chris spends every Sunday afternoon organizing the Cadet Youth Firefighter Program in Hiawatha. Many of those Cadets have become rookies within the Hiawatha Fire Department and other local departments. In addition, he freely gives his time to work on the station’s annual Chili Supper, work with rookies for certification to drive vehicles, and take calls when crews are short staffed. Lt. Liscum doesn’t do the job for recognition, he does it because of his passion for helping others."
