This Cedar Rapids Block to Welcome 55,000 Square Foot Building
A now vacant block on Cedar Rapids southeast side will soon be home to Linn County's new Public Health and Child & Youth Development Services building.
The building itself is expected to be 55,000 square feet and will have a white wall to show movies, a playground, and they'll even save some of the now totally green block of land for some green space. CBS 2 reports ground should be broken this fall, with the new building hopefully open by August of 2018.
The community can get more details on the plans during a public meeting of the Board of Supervisors. It will be held Monday, May 8 at 7 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church at 1224 5th St. SE in Cedar Rapids.
Watch the video below to see an artistic rendering of what the building is expected to look like.
