Police Investigating Shots Fired Report Near Kirkwood Hotel

Cedar Rapids Police tell KCRG they responded to a report of shots fired around 9:55 Wednesday morning, near the Hotel at Kirkwood Center, specifically in the 7700 block of Kirkwood Blvd. in Southwest Cedar Rapids.

The College Community School District (Prairie) is implementing lockdown procedures as the incident investigation is ongoing.

No injuries have yet to be reported as of 11 a.m. Wednesday. Preliminary information according to Iowa's News Now on CBS2 states that two vehicles were involved, and an alert was sent to Kirkwood students at around 10:30 a.m. The following message was also posted to Kirkwood Facebook page:
