It was a terrifying early Friday morning for six people inside a home in Waterloo, three of whom were children.

Officers from the Waterloo Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at 1206 Columbia St. at approximately 12:43 a.m. this morning. Waterloo Police recovered 13 shell casings at the home, 12 of which were confirmed to have hit the house. There were three kids and three adults in the home at the time, but no one was injured.

While officers were approaching the scene, they encountered a vehicle speeding away from the area. During a short chase, a handgun was thrown from one of the windows of the vehicle. It was recovered by police and reportedly was a 9mm SIG-Sauer P230 that had been stolen in Waterloo in early August.

After officers got the vehicle stopped, they found three people inside. 18-year-old Dalyn Culp, who was a passenger, and the driver, 23-year-old Tashieyana O'Neal were both arrested, while the third occupant wasn't charged.
