KHAK’s ‘Teacher of the Week’ — February 10th

Every week we honor another awesome teacher in the local area with our ‘Teacher of the Week’ award!

Congratulations to Sara Tjelmeland, a teacher at Norway Elementary in Norway! She is this week’s ‘Teacher of the Week!” She was nominated by Melissa Unkel, and here’s what she had to say:

"Sara was my son's behavioral special education teacher from 3rd through 6th grade. She received him when he was at his worst, and was so patient and kind with him. She truly wanted to make school better for him. Through her work, my son went from never wanting to go to school to loving school. He is now in middle school and has suffered some medical issues and multiple surgeries. She went out of her way to come to our house just to see him and make sure he was okay. She was a true blessing to our family and I'm sure she has been for many other families as well. She takes pride in her job and the students she works with...even though working with behavioral students is not an easy task."

Sara will be receiving gift cards from Wild Hogs in Walford, Peck’s Flower Shop, Half Price Books, and Kathy’s Pies.
