KHAK's Annual Radiothon for the UI Children's Hospital is Here!

It's going to be a very busy couple of days for us in Iowa City! Thursday and Friday, August 13th and 14th, we are broadcasting from the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital for our annual Radiothon with the Children's Miracle Network (CMN). Since 1997, our listeners have helped raise $3.1 million for CMN, and we plan to add more to that total this week!

How it Works

During Radiothon, our schedule here on KHAK looks a little bit different. On both Thursday and Friday, our morning show will run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Then we'll take a little break, and return for an afternoon show from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

During those times, we'll be interviewing Iowa families and kids that have experienced the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital first-hand. They'll share their stories, their hardships, their victories, their messages of hope, and the reasons why we're so lucky to have such a wonderful hospital right here in our backyards.

Then, just after 6 p.m. on Friday, we will get to announce this year's total amount raised, so make sure to get your donation in before then!

How to Donate

There are several different ways you can participate in our 2026 Radiothon. First of all, you can CALL! Anytime from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 13th and 14th, just call 1-800-456-2772 to make a donation. That's the preferred method, because we love to hear those phones ring during our broadcast!

If you'd prefer to text in a donation, you can do that by texting 'KHAK' to 34984. There's also an option to donate online, which you can find HERE.
