Brain & Courtlin Head to Benton County for July Listener Lunch

And just like that... June has come to an end!

On Tuesday, we had our final Listener Lunch in the month of June at Boondocks in Anamosa. It was an amazing month full of tenderloins, cheese curds, and grandma's desserts, but it's time for us to move on to somewhere new! We're excited to announce that July Listener Lunch will be held at...

Cranky Hank's Pizza Bank in Shellsburg!

That's right, Benton County - we're coming for you!

While Cranky Hank's Pizza Bank is a new lunch destination for us in terms of location, the restaurant is actually not new to Brain. He and Steele did Listener Lunch at the Cranky Hank's that used to be inside of Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids, which was long before I joined the show in 2014. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant until recently!

Cranky Hank's specialty is Quad Cities-style pizza, which is round pizza cut into strips instead of slices. To me, it looks similar to an order of breadsticks. The pizzas come with all sorts of different topping combinations, including specialty options like Krabby Rangoon, Mac & Cheese, Loaded Potato, Dill Dough, Reuben, and Garlic Chicken. I've only had the chance to try a couple of the breakfast pizzas, so I'm looking forward to exploring the menu!

Cranky Hank's Pizza Bank isn't typically open for lunch, but they're making an exception for us this month! If you work in the Benton County area and you'd like to join us on a Tuesday in July (except for the 14th - that week lunch is moved to WEDNESDAY), get signed up for lunch HERE!

Winners of Listener Lunch will get to bring up to 6 of their coworkers (or friends, family, whoever can make it) to have a free meal at Cranky Hank's. We meet at 11:30 a.m. each Tuesday. If we choose you, we will call you the Friday before your lunch to confirm that you can make it. You just have to answer your phone when we call! Be sure to give us a number that you can answer around 9 a.m. on Fridays. We hope to see you this month!
