98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Mark Clark

Every Friday morning at 6:30, 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder during our 'First Responder Friday' segment! The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we're honoring Mark Clark, who was nominated by Donna Boos! The entry reads:

"Mark is an incredibly dedicated and selfless individual, contributing to his community in multiple roles. From his work as a Corrections Officer at Anamosa State Penitentiary since 2017 to his service as the Assistant Fire Chief at the West Bertrand Fire Department and as a reserve officer for the City of Jesup, it's clear that he plays a significant part in public safety. His service in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour in Afghanistan, further highlights his commitment to serving others.

Being a member of the Blue Knights of Iowa also reflects his dedication to law enforcement. This group consists of active and retired law enforcement officers who enjoy motorcycle riding.

On top of all his professional commitments, Mark also makes time to care for his elderly mother, showing a deeply compassionate side.

Mark truly is one of those quiet, unsung heroes who doesn’t seek recognition but is crucial to the safety and well-being of his community. It's clear that his work and dedication deserve acknowledgment. Thank you for sharing his story."
