An Iowa school bus driver who was videotaped by a student texting while driving has been fired. The incident happened in the Des Moines school district.

A school district spokesperson says the students video shows the bus driver texting and driving while transporting students last week. The 14-year-old student shared the video with her parents, who then contacted the school district.

The bus driver was put on leave last Friday and was officially fired on Monday. The driver had worked for the district since 2012. The driver could face charges since driving and texting is illegal in Iowa. No charges have been filed.
