Young Swimmer Missing at Palisades-Kepler State Park

The search continues for a young swimmer who went missing after entering the water at Palisades-Kepler State Park in Linn County.

KCRG reports that the Linn County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call from Palisades at around 3:36 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. The call reported that a person had gone into the water and began to struggle. Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner says that the potential victim is a juvenile female, according to KCRG.

Search efforts continued last night as law enforcement officials shut off the entrance to the park. CBS2 reports that search efforts are expected to resume this morning.
