First-Come, First-Served Camping Coming to an End in Linn County

For decades, Linn County Conservation campgrounds have operated on a first-come, first-served basis. In 2027, that will officially change.

Online Booking for Campgrounds

KWWL reports that Linn County Conservation campgrounds will be moving to an online reservation system for 2027. Campers can now book campsites up to one year in advance, with modern campsites open from April 15th through October 15th. The change will affect campgrounds at the following parks.

Pinicon Ridge
Wanatee
Morgan Creek
Buffalo Creek

The Linn County Conservation Board approved the change earlier this year, according to KWWL. Officials say the move will allow campers to book a site the same day, or in advance, assuring a site will be available when they arrive.

Updated Payment Method For Sites

KWWL reports that going online also gets rid of cash and check payments for sites. Officials say that refunds will also not be issued for sites. The County says that will keep sites available for people who plan ahead, and discourage speculative booking, according to KWWL. Campers can change a reservation with two weeks' notice.
