The Telegraph Herald reports that on Friday, January 15 a woman attempted to save her dog who had wandered onto some ice and fell through. The attempt was unsuccessful as she too fell through the ice.

The Prairie Du Chien Police Department posted a video on their Facebook page of them responding to the scene. The video shows two officers attempt to walk out to the pair and fall through the ice themselves. They were able to pull themselves out. Emergency responders and other rescue crew worked together to pull the woman and her beloved canine from the ice. See the events unfold in the video below.

It was an inspiration to see law enforcement, fire department and other emergency responders team up to save the woman and her dog. It definitely warms our hearts to see stories with endings like this.
