Things I Learned On The Road To Tree Town

Tree Town is over for another year. Hopefully you had a chance to come visit our booth at Tree Town and enjoyed the shows. KHAK was broadcasting from the Ketelsen RV Camper at Tree Town in Forest City, IA. I helped deliver the camper and bring it back to Cedar Rapids and along the way I realized a few things during the drive.

Windy: Man, it's no fun pulling into a wind! No matter how little the wind might be blowing here in Linn County, it sure does get windy NW of Waterloo. If you've ever driven on the 4 lane Hwy 27, there is a good reason why there are so many Windmill Farms. WOW!!!

Gas prices: Gas prices ranged from Cedar Rapids at $2.54/gallon to Waterloo at $2.64/gallon to Mason City $2.43/gallon. Glad my truck has a big enough tank. Filled up in Mason City... sorry Waterloo.

Radio Coverage: KHAK coverage gets just North of Waterloo and then I picked up our Sister Station K98.5 in Waterloo. As I traveled further Northwest, I had to go to search. Picked up a few other Country stations in NW Iowa and Southern Minnesota. One thing in common with all of these stations, Tree Town. This event was HUGE!!!

Driving Truck: After traveling over 670 miles for both trips to and from Tree Town, I realized I'm not cut out to be a Truck Driver. My legs were getting stiff after the 7 hour round-trip haul.
