Is McDonald’s Big Arch Burger Any Good? My Real Review
My daughter and I are making an effort to cut back on our fast food intake this Spring. But when McDonald's announced it was introducing a new, bigger burger, I realized that goal would have to wait. It was time to experience the 'Big Arch'.
McDonald's Debuts the 'Big Arch' Burger
McDonald's unveiled the Big Arch Burger in restaurants on March 3rd. The new creation features two quarter-pound patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, sliced onions, crispy onions, pickles, lettuce, and the new Big Arch sauce. The big burger is said to be a limited time offering, and comes in at a whopping 1020 calories! The Big Mac has just 580 calories in comparison! Good thing I ordered mine with a Diet Coke!
Is the Big Arch Good?
I suppose that depends on your expectations of a fast-food burger. Here is what I will say about the Big Arch.
Things I Liked!
- The bun. The new toasted sesame and poppy seed bun was great!
- Onions. I like the crispy onions. They added flavor and texture to the burger.
What Could Have Been Better
- The burgers. My patties didn't appear all that fresh and juicy.
- Too much sauce. I didn't mind the Big Arch sauce, but there was WAY TOO much!
The Big Arch Burger will set you back $8.39, or $10.99 for the value meal. Once again, this isn't gourmet. It's McDonald's. But aside from a bit too much sauce and my burgers being a bit underwhelming, it was a positive experience. It satisfied my fast-food craving. Now, back to salads for the rest of Lent!
