The TV Series That Had Me Hooked All Year!
I get it. There are simply too my things to watch on TV. You have your weekly network shows, not to mention all the programs and shows on streaming services. So for a show to catch my attention, and then get me to watch the entire season, takes a lot! So here are my favorite TV series that I couldn't stop watching in 2025.
5. Paradise - Hulu
Season one of Paradise came out on Hulu in January and features great performances from Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and more. If you haven't watched it yet, I don't want to give away too much, but if you're into end-of-the-world conspiracies, then you'll want to check it out!
4. Adolescence - Netflix
Admittedly, this is a tough watch. A family's life is torn apart when a 13-year-old boy is arrested for murdering a classmate. Owen Cooper as that boy is phenomenal, as is his father, played by Stephen Graham. You feel awful for everyone in this story. Look for Cooper and Graham to get some serious hardware during awards season.
3. The Bear: Season 4 - Hulu
I've been a big fan of The Bear since season one. But admittedly, season three left me a bit disappointed. Well, worry not, fans of Carmy, Richie, and Sydney. Season four was fantastic, with more of the frenetic-paced comedy the show is known for. And episode 7, which takes place at a wedding, is episodic TV at its best.
2. IT: Welcome to Derry - HBO
For someone like me, who hates horror movies, to watch a series about the origins of a child-killing clown, you know that IT: Welcome to Derry delivers. This show has it all. Jump scares, character development, fantastic child actors, mystery, and, of course, the horrors of the Stephen King universe. My only complaint is that I have to wait until Sunday to catch a new episode.
1. The Righteous Gemstones: Season 4 - HBO
To be fair, I didn't just watch season four of this series; I watched ALL four seasons! The Righteous Gemstones follows the Gemstone televangelist family, and all their trials and tribulations. This ridiculous comedy features fantastic performances from Danny McBride, John Goodman, and, of course, Uncle Baby Billy himself, Walton Goggins. The show is over the top, stupid, and hilarious. I'm sad it's done.
