Get the tissues ready! This 15-year-old's response to getting a heart transplant might make you a little (or a lot) emotional.

Trevor Sullivan is a Detroit teen that was diagnosed with severe cardiomyopathy in March of last year. Put simply, it is an abnormality in the heart that makes it very hard to pump blood to other parts of the body. After realizing that surgery was "inevitable," a friend of Trevor's family started up a GoFundMe page for medical expenses. There you can find frequent updates to Trevor's condition, including a link to this video:

The video was posted by Trevor's father to the Facebook page of Gift of Life Michigan, and has since gotten over a million views. The raw emotion that Trevor experiences in the video is totally heart-wrenching. He was put on a waiting list for 8 months before finally receiving a heart in November, and he immediately underwent surgery. According a local news station, Trevor is doing well and shows no signs of organ rejection. AMAZING! It just goes to show you how much of a difference organ donation makes.

We met some incredible kids after working at the Children's Miracle Network Radiothon last year, and one of them, Leila, was also waiting for a heart. We are happy to say that she has since received one! Actually meeting a child who is going through a situation like this really opens your eyes. Leila and her family's never-ending hope and endurance is absolutely inspirational. That's why stories like this really hit home for us.
