A Cedar Rapids Food Truck is Moving Into NewBo City Market

NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids is about to get a little bit happier! It's been revealed that local food truck Smiley’s Soup and Sandwiches will be opening up their own booth inside the market in the near future.

About Smiley's

According to their website, Smiley's Soup and Sandwiches was founded back in 2020. The name "Smiley's" was actually inspired by a person. The site reads:

"Smiley's takes it's name from our dear friend Dustin Smiley, who blessed our lives until the end. When Dustin passed away, we wanted to find a way to connect with the community, friends and family and share the Smiley name. Our wish is that each bite you take puts a smile on your face and brings you as much joy as Dustin brought us."

As you have probably guessed from the name, Smiley's is best known for their delicious sandwiches. They have already posted the menu for their new NewBo location, and it includes classic hot sandwiches like Grilled Cheese, BBQ Pulled Pork, the Philly Cheesesteak, and the Cubano. There are also a few cold sandwiches available: the Turkey Bacon Club, Italian, and Veggie. If you're in the mood for a salad, they have those, too! And, don't forget about the sides. Options include fries, pasta salad, coleslaw, onion rings, and cheesy potato casserole. You can check out the full menu with prices below:

We don't know exactly when Smiley's plans to open their shop inside of NewBo, but in the meantime, you can check out their food truck at the Cedar Rapids Freedom FEASTival this Friday, May 2nd at Greene Square Park in Downtown Cedar Rapids.
