I've been warning my kids for weeks now. Summer is nearly over and school will be here before you know it! If your kids are anything like mine, their summer sleep schedule is a lot different than what happens during the school year. I've come home from work around noon and had to wake Chase up!  How do you break them back in? Start NOW!

Pediatricians suggest that you start adjusting your child's bedtime now. Start with 15 to 30 minutes per night until you are back at when they need to go to bed when school starts. Experts agree that getting enough sleep is key to kids learning properly in school. Most say 9 to 12 hours is great for elementary school age kids with high schoolers needing an average of 9 hours.

It is also a good time to get back into that bedtime routine. Bath time, reading a book and then lights out. Starting to get back into that habit now will pay off when school rolls around.

It's hard to believe that summer break is almost at an end. Don't wait until the last minute to get your kids ready for back to school!
