New Restaurant Grand Opening This Weekend in Cedar Rapids

A new casual dining establishment is celebrating their grand opening this weekend in Cedar Rapids.

The Weather Vane is located at 5241 Edgewood Rd NE in the Fountains shopping plaza.

The atmosphere is cool and laid-back, and the decor is trendy. The service was friendly and the menu is fashionably simple and tasty.

We started with an order of chips and fresh salsa, the raspberry lime being our favorite of three.

My wife had the Mixed Greens Berry Salad with Cherry Vinaigrette.

I had the Tuscany soup with traditional Italian sausage, kale and potatoes. Both were flavorful and light.

We both enjoyed the Blueberry Bleu Cheese Jalepano Burger. The bluebery sweetness gave a nice contrast to the bleu cheese, and the Angus beef from Doty farms was juicy and perfectly cooked.
