Two Restaurants Among Four New Businesses to Open in Coralville
More new businesses are on their way to Coralville, including two restaurants that will both be new to Iowa.
The Iowa River Landing is preparing to welcome a variety of new establishments in the coming months. One of those is AllSpice Culinarium. A media release says it will have "nearly 500 herbs, spices, blends, oils, and specialty culinary products from all over the world."
AllSpice Culinarium opened its only other location 13 years ago in the East Village in Des Moines. The Coralville store will be at 901 East 2nd Avenue, in a spot previously occupied by EVOLVE. AllSpice Culinarium is expected to open this fall.
Coralville will be the location for the first Hokkaido Ramen House restaurant in Iowa. Hokkaido is the northernmost island of Japan's main islands.
According to the company's website, the Hokkaido Ramen House serves the Japanese noodle soup dish (ramen) "with oriental-style wheat noodles served in a rich and savory broth with pork, chicken, or beef, the freshest combination of vegetables, and a specialty soft-boiled egg that's marinated in a sweet soy sauce." The casual, pub-style atmosphere will also offer boba teas and sushi rolls.
There are over 30 Hokkaido Ramen House restaurants in the U.S. The first Iowa location will be at 201 East 9th Street, in the former Fuzzy's Taco Shop. The estimated date of opening has not been revealed.
Ekin Nutrition is also coming to the Iowa River Landing. Offering health supplements and personalized nutrition coaching, Ekin Nutrition will be in the new Staybridge Suites building, located adjacent to Xtream Arena.
Another restaurant that has over 30 franchised locations in the U.S., mostly in Colorado, Texas, and Arizona, is coming to Iowa. Modern Market Eatery is on its way to the Hawkeye State.
Modern Market Eatery has food "Made from scratch, all the time. Whole, clean, sustainable. Convenient and delicious." The menu includes everything from protein bowls to pizza, breakfast, salads, and more. Modern Market Eatery's website has detailed nutrition information on everything on the menu.
The Staybridge Suites building will be home to the 3,460-square-foot Modern Market Eatery that's expected to open early next year.
Deanna Printy, Iowa River Landing Property Manager says, “With these new additions, we’ve added ten new businesses to the neighborhood in 2023 and early 2024. We’re thrilled to begin adding diverse tenants to the new Staybridge building and to continue to expand what the IRL has to offer.”
