If you're in the northern Linn County area and are wondering why the time on your microwave is blinking or why the TV won't turn on, that's because the power is out! According to CBS2/ FOX 28, more that 1,000 residents are without power in northern Linn County.

Alliant Energy's power outage map currently shows 1,378 customers out near Center Point-Urbana, 456 near Alburnett, and 692 customers out around Troy Mills, and in the surrounding areas.

The power outage map also shows that the outages occurred this afternoon around 1:45 p.m. There's no word on what exactly caused the outages, but the goods news is that crews are on-scene. They hope to have power restored and things up and running normally by 4:00 p.m. Yay!

On the bright side, at least it happened when the majority of people were at work. And it's good thing today is so nice, because if it was a rainy day and you were stuck inside things....that would be the worst. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
