Matthew McConaughey Watches His ‘Dazed And Confused’ Audition For The First Time

'Dazed and Confused' was released in theatres September 24, 1993, and it jumpstarted the careers of many young stars: Jason London, Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Cole Hauser, Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg, Joey Lauren Adams, Matthew McConaughey, and Renée Zellweger.

The film was about a day in the life of some Texas teenagers during the last day of school in 1976.

On the film's anniversary, Matthew McConaughey posted a video of himself watching his audition for that movie, something that he had never seen before -- which led to his first major movie role. The Texas-native was only 23-years-old when the film was released.

According to Maxim, McConaughey unexpectedly met casting director Don Phillips at a Hotel bar. The college student walked up to him, offered him a drink, which eventually led to him saying to McConaughey, "Hey, you should try out for this role of 'Wooderson."
