[UPDATED] Major Issues on Interstate 380 and Highway 13

UPDATE 2:30 pm: Highway 13 also has an overturned semi blocking both northbound lanes near Cottage Grove Parkway. The northbound lanes are closed and only one southbound lane is currently open.

The wind is causing major problems on Interstate 380, both north and southbound this afternoon, due to the extremely strong winds.

UPDATE 3:10 pm: The above situation has been resolved. It was an overturned semi on southbound 380, near mile marker 27 and Tower Terrace Road. As you can see, only the right lane is open.

UPDATE (2:30 pm) This situation is resolved. Meanwhile, on northbound 380, just south of the Swisher/Shueyville exit a crane is removing a vehicle from the ditch. The photo below shows the left lane is open, but traffic is backed up almost to North Liberty.

A high wind warning continues for the area until 6 pm. The Iowa State Patrol says it is vital today that you keep both hands on the wheel. Winds could continue to gust to near 60 mph the rest of the afternoon. Please be safe!
