The states in the United States that are the most comfortable hanging out in the nude are:

1. Washington
2. Rhode Island
3. Delaware
4. Maryland
5. Colorado

Do you notice that not a single state in the Midwest broke through the top of the list?

Could it be that the winters are so bad here that we cannot even fathom the idea of taking a single article of clothing off?

Now if we go to the other end of this list, you'll start to see some Midwestern states.

Tied for number one and the states that are the most uncomfortable in the buff are Indiana and Oregon. Then Nebraska followed by Minnesota.

Where does Iowa fall on the list?

Well, this entire list is based off of some data from a wellness practice out of New York. They conducted a nationwide survey and asked people to rank their current level of body confidence in the nude on a 1-10 scale.

Iowa ranked a bit higher than some of its Midwestern neighbors. Nebraska came out with an average of 4.6 out of 10 on the body confidence scale. Iowa has a slightly higher score of 4.8 out of 10.

We seem to have a slightly higher confidence score than Pennsylvania and Florida.

This study also determined what instances people are not comfortable being naked in. These include being nude on a beach, changing in locker rooms, and while skinny dipping.
