A New Mexican Seafood Restaurant Has Opened in Cedar Rapids
There's a new restaurant to try in Cedar Rapids! Acapulco Seafood & Grill has officially opened over on the Southwest side of town!
According to a recent article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Acapulco Seafood & Grill is located at 2925 Williams Pkwy SW, which is the former home of Vivian's Soul Food. Vivian's shut its doors back in late 2022, and the building hasn't had another tenant until now.
Acapulco Seafood & Grill announced on Facebook on May 2nd that they would hold a soft opening from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It was apparently a success, with a post from the restaurant that same evening reading:
"We had an awesome day today! Thank you for everyone that stopped in and supported us today!"
Although Acapulco has only been open a week, it's already getting great early reviews. It currently has five-stars on Google thanks to four different users! The restaurant is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Acapulco Seafood & Grill is the third restaurant that specializes in seafood that has opened in Cedar Rapids in the past year. Crab House Seafood Boil & Bar opened over in the Westdale Town Center in October of 2023, and Juicy Crab Island at 1323 1st Ave SE opened in February of this year. Another Cedar Rapids seafood restaurant recently moved to Marion. That's Crab Attack Seafood Kitchen and Bar, which reopened in late December at 796 11th Street in Marion, the former location of Bistro 3 Nineteen.
