From two wins to the Sweet 16. It was an amazing turnaround season for the Iowa State men's basketball team. No one thought this team would make the NCAA Tournament. But they did. Make a run to the Sweet 16? This team? Yet that is exactly what the Cyclones did. Now, one of their stars is preparing to take his talents to the NBA.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that senior Izaiah Brockington has announced plans to enter the upcoming NBA Draft after spending one season with Iowa State. Brockington had a COVID year of eligibility left but choose to move on instead. It doesn't come as a huge surprise given the fact that Brockington will turn 23 this July. He made his announcement on Twitter.

Brockington has traveled all over this college basketball world. The Gazette reports he started off at St. Bonaventure, sat out a year after transferring to Penn State, then left Happy Valley after a coaching change. But he ended his college journey in Ames and helped lead one of the greatest turnarounds in college basketball history.

Brockington led the Cyclones in both scoring and rebounding, averaging nearly 17 points and 7 rebounds during his one season in Ames. He also posted seven double-doubles.
