It's getting rather late in the season for Iowa's 'First Frost' and some areas in the Hawkeye State will finally get hit tonight as 14 counties in Northwest Iowa are in a 'Frost Advisory' tonight into tomorrow morning.

On the other side of the Missouri River tonight, areas surrounding Omaha are in a FREEZE WARNING where widespread frost is expected.

Waterloo typically sees its first frost of the season around the final week of September. For Cedar Rapids, it happens generally right around the first of October.

The latest 'First Frost' of the season in Waterloo occurred on October 25th, 1914. In Cedar Rapids, the latest First Frost happened on October 28, 1963.
