Iowa star cornerback Cooper DeJean had a tough decision to make last year. Leave the comforts of college and the University of Iowa and take a chance on the NFL, or come back for his senior season with the Hawkeyes. DeJean opted for the NFL. That decision looks pretty good today as Cooper DeJean will play in the Super Bowl as a rookie.

DeJean was disappointed when he fell out of the first round of the NFL Draft, according to the Des Moines Register. But he landed on a solid team when he was drafted 40th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. While his rookie season started off slow, DeJean came on late in the year and is now one of five finalists for NFL Rookie of the Year, according to the Register. He finished the regular season with 51 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 3 fumble recoveries.

The Register reports that DeJean played big in the NFC Championship game on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. He had six tackles and two pass defenses on the day as the Eagles cruised to a 55-23 win and a trip to the Super Bowl!

I don't know what the line is for this year's Super Bowl. The Eagles have a tough task going up against the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. But don't bet against the Eagles and Cooper DeJean. They might just have luck on their side. Why? The Register reports that Super Bowl Sunday falls on February 9th. That day is also Cooper DeJean's 22nd birthday.

Sorry Chief fans...now who's "feeling 22"?
