A Record 9 Iowa Hawkeyes Invited to the NFL Combine
The NFL Draft combine will take place later this month in Indianapolis, and when it does, it will be full of former Iowa Hawkeye football players looking to earn a spot in the NFL.
9 Former Hawkeyes Invited to the Combine
MSN reports that a list of college players invited to the 2026 NFL Combine was released on Wednesday, and a record 9 Iowa players were invited to Indy. The Hawkeyes who got an official invite include;
- OL Logan Jones
- OL Gennings Dunker
- OL Beau Stephens
- WR/KR Kaden Wetjen
- DL Max Llewellyn
- DL Karson Sharar
- S Xavier Nwankpa
- CB T.J. Hall
- K Drew Stevens
Two Hawkeyes Left Off the Combine List
According to MSN, two former Hawkeyes who were expected to get invites did not. Quarterback Mark Gronowski and defensive tackle Aaron Graves were not invited to Indianapolis. Perhaps scouts got enough info on Gronowski at the East-West All-Star game, where the QB was named offensive MVP.
Ferentz Sends Plenty of Hawkeyes to the NFL
MSN reports that the Iowa Hawkeye football program under Kirk Ferentz knows how to get players to the NFL. In the Ferentz era, 94 players have heard their names called during the draft, including 13 in the first round. According to Pro Football Focus, Iowa has eight players ranked as NFL Draft prospects.
The NFL Combine will take place starting February 23rd in Indianapolis. The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23 to 25th.
