Iowa's Cooper DeJean Makes Super Bowl History!

It's going to be pretty tough for Cooper DeJean to top his 22nd birthday.

The former Iowa Hawkeye corner, starting for the Philadelphia Eagles as a rookie, made Super Bowl history on Sunday night in New Orleans and he did it on his birthday! The Associated Press reports that DeJean undercut a Patrick Mahomes pass intended for Kansas City wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and took it back for a pick-six!

What was Cooper thinking once he caught the ball? "Score a touchdown," according to the AP. DeJean did just that and in the meantime set an NFL record in the process. Cooper DeJean became the first player in Super Bowl history to intercept a pass and/or score a touchdown on his birthday. Like I said before. A birthday to remember!

DeJean wasn't the only record-setting birthday boy on the Eagles. The AP reports that running back Saquon Barkley turned 28 on Super Bowl Sunday, the same day he set the NFL record for most combined yards rushing in the regular season and playoffs. But, if you ask both players, they'll tell you the most important thing was the Eagles getting the win.

The Kansas City offensive line had no answer for the Philly front four on defense as they sacked Patrick Mahomes six times in a 40-22 Super Bowl rout. There would be no three-peat. No hugs from Taylor Swift at mid-field. The Eagles are flying high!
