It was more than nine months ago that a winning ticket was sold in Cedar Rapids. Today, the winner has finally come forward.

Jeff Wolf of Iowa City turned in his winning ticket this morning at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive. The ticket had been purchased July 16, 2016 at the Hawkeye Convenience Store at 2330 Wiley Blvd. SW in Cedar Rapids. It matched everything but the Powerball on the night of the drawing, but Wolf had added the Power Play which doubled his $1 million prize to $2 million.

Did Wolf not know he'd won all this time? That's not the case at all. The Iowa Lottery reports he knew shortly after the numbers were announced but was working through estate issues after his parents had passed away.

What will Wolf do with all that money? He says "I'm going to invest it."

According to the Gazette, Wolf owns a pair of mobile home parks in Iowa City. This is one of the moments it might pay, literally, to have been a REALLY GOOD tenant. Just sayin.'
