Just last month, we told you about Butter & Jam Café, a new restaurant that opened in the former Arby's at 801 1st Ave in Coralville. But, that's not the only brunch spot to pop up in Johnson County this summer! Another restaurant called Golden Yolk Breakfast and Lunch opened its doors in Iowa City this August, too!

Golden Yolk is located at 1755 Boyrum St in Iowa City, the former home of Taco Loco. It's directly next to the Salvation Army near the Waterfront Hy-Vee.

What's on the Menu?

According to DoorDash, Golden Yolk's menu features a wide variety of both breakfast and lunch options. Some of their most popular breakfast orders include their Steak and Southern Skillets, the IOWA and Country Benedicts, Chopped Steak & Eggs, and Chicken & Waffles. There are other breakfast classics on the menu, too, like pancakes, crepes, omelettes, French toast, and biscuits & gravy.

As far as lunch options go, the menu at Golden Yolk offers salads, wraps, melts, sandwiches, burgers, paninis, and a classic Iowa pork tenderloin. The most-ordered lunch item on DoorDash is the California Chicken Panini, which is topped with charbroiled chicken breast, avocado, Monterey Jack cheese, mayo, and bacon. The restaurant also offers milkshakes and ice cream sundaes for dessert.
