We are less than 24 hours before the kickoff of the 2017 Outback Bowl featuring the Iowa Hawkeyes against the Florida Gators in Tampa. Iowa is a 3 point underdog according to the football experts. Earlier in the week, I was feeling pretty good taking Iowa for the win, but now with Michigan taking a loss in the Orange Bowl against Florida State and Ohio State getting run out of the Fiesta Bowl by Clemson, I started to have my doubts.

Then I got to thinking, this is the last chance the Iowa Seniors get a chance to win a bowl game. Iowa's last win in a bowl game was 2010 against Missouri in the Insight Bowl. Most of Iowa's Seniors this year were either Junior or Senior's in High School back in 2010.

After reading some of the Gator's message boards, the Florida's fan base isn't excited about the Outback bowl. Many disgruntled Gator fans aren't even sure they will watch the game. The last time an uninspired Florida fan base and team met Iowa, the Hawks came away with the 2004 Outback Bowl win 37-17. Iowa was the better team that day.

My prediction now and still... Iowa 24 Florida 14.
