I Bet You’re Not Missing These Gas Prices, But How Low Can They Go?
I bet you don't miss prices like this when driving by gas stations. I know I sure don't. Just how long has it been since gas prices have been this low?
2010 was the last time average prices across the country were below $3.00 a gallon. Yep, it's really been that long. Here's the current averages. Here's what Iowa gas prices have been doing, and I like the trend. Around Thanksgiving in 2008, gas was around $2.16 a gallon nationally. There you go, we still can go lower! Hopefully.
Many Cedar Rapids stations have been selling gas for under $2.75 a gallon, and I love it. Every dollar we can save at the pump is one we can use for other items, whether it be necessities or play-time, if you will. Either way, that's a good thing. However, I'm a realist and know that the smart money bets on a 10 to 20-cent price hike in the next week. In the meantime, I'll do what I did yesterday... fill up every few days & save just as much as I can.
