University of Iowa Police have sent four complaints to Iowa State Police Chief Michael Newton stemming from the reported abuse at the CyHawk game in Ames on September 14. Official criminal complaints had NOT been previously filed and little is being revealed as to the extent of these complaints until investigations are completed.

"Inappropriate actions" were reported during the days following the game by Iowa band members. Newton says it is an active investigation and that his department is working with victims and will release further details when they can.

For their part, Iowa State President Wendy Wintersteen and Athletic Director Jamie Pollard say they've been doing their investigation into the complaints since they first came to light. According to Wintersteen:

Ninety-eight percent of our fans are behaving. They're doing what we expect them to do and it's a few of our fans that have decided to behave inappropriately, and so we're doing to work with President Harreld and (University of Northern Iowa President Mark Nook) to see how we can change that.

It was mentioned at one point by University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld that the Iowa vs. Iowa State series could discontinue if steps weren't taken to avoid future incidents. Further information will be updated as it's brought to our attention.
