Warning: this conversation is NOT for people who get grossed out easily!

I was scrolling through Facebook today, and I happened to come across a video titled "Best Blackheads." It started playing automatically, so it was too late for me to escape. I was sucked in.

I'm not an avid watcher of pimple popping videos, but when I see one, I somehow just can't look away. They absolutely disgust me, but there's something about them that is oddly satisfying. I'm obviously not the only person who feels this way. Dermatologist Sandra Lee, who is best known as Dr. Pimple Popper, got so much attention for her videos online that she ended up getting her own TV show on TLC! I've never watched it, but I might have to start.

So, what is it exactly that draws people into these videos? An article from Science Alert published comments from a neuroscientist by the name of Heather Berlin. It reads:

"'evolutionarily speaking, it's normal behavior to want to remove bumps from your skin' because those bumps could be parasites or other things, so she said it makes sense that human beings evolved in a way that such behavior can be pleasurable to them."

Unfortunately, nobody seems to know why some people love the videos and others find them repulsive.

So now we want to know what YOU think! Do you like pimple popping videos? Vote in the poll below!
