The above email was waiting for me in my Yahoo inbox yesterday afternoon. Data breach? What are they talking about? Well, it turns out that my email and around 1 billion others were hacked.

The cyber attack happened back in 2013 to most of Yahoo's customers throughout the world. The company found out about the hack after investigating a similar breach back in September of 500 million user accounts. Yes, Yahoo has now fallen victim to two of the biggest data breaches in history. What did hackers get?

In the 2013 hack, they got names, telephone numbers, dates of birth and other personal information. Credit card and bank numbers were NOT affected. Yahoo says that information is stored separately. The bottom line? If you haven't changed your Yahoo password in awhile, now would be a great time to do so.
