Current Snow Depth in Iowa

After the latest storm system on Monday and Tuesday dumped southwestern Iowa with over a foot of snow and eastern Iowa received up to 11.5 inches, the snow is starting to add up across the state.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities says that the current snow depth in Cedar Rapids stands at about 10 inches, which is pretty common across the area, as you can see below.

The two graphics below show the difference in snow depth between Saturday, January 23, and Wednesday, January 27.

The deepest snow in the entire United States is currently at Lake Tahoe at the Alpine Meadows at just under 288 FEET!
