Courtlin’s Top 10 Favorite Country Songs of 2024 [LISTEN]
Now that the year is almost over, I've put together a list of some of my favorite songs that were released! The only qualification for my list is that the song HAD to be featured on an album that was released in 2024. That rules out a few good ones, but not many!
One of the things I noticed about my 2024 list is that it has quite a few of the same artists that my 2023 list did. Kelsea Ballerini, Nate Smith, Hailey Whitters, Zach Bryan, Carly Pearce, and Kacey Musgraves can all be found on both lists. I also noticed that half of my 2024 picks are collaborations. There were just so many good ones this year!
I would also like to note that all of the following songs made my playlist of most-listened to songs of 2024 (thank you, Apple Replay), except for ONE. We'll get into the reasons behind that once one we get to it!
Here are my top ten, in no particular order:
- "Cowboys Cry Too" - Kelsea Ballerini & Noah Kahan
- Patterns - Released October 25th
- "Wish I Never Felt" - Nate Smith
- Through the Smoke - Released April 5th
- "You Look Like You Love Me" - Ella Langley & Riley Green
- hungover - Released August 2nd
- "Too Good to Be True" - Kacey Musgraves
- Deeper Well - Released March 15th
- "truck on fire" - Carly Pearce
- hummingbird - Released June 7th
- "High Road" - Koe Wetzel & Jesse Murph
- 9 Lives - Released July 19th
- "Winning Streak" - Jelly Roll
- Beautifully Broken - Released October 11th
- Note: this is the ONE song that didn't make my most-listened to songs list. Why? Because it makes me SOB UNCONTROLLABLY every single time. It's an incredible, powerful, eye-opening song, but if you or someone you know struggles with addiction, it's definitely hard to hear.
- "Roulette on the Heart" - Conner Smith & Hailey Whitters
- Smoky Mountains - Released January 26th
- "28" - Zach Bryan
- The Great American Bar Scene - Released July 4th
- "Play Something Country" - Brooks & Dunn with Lainey Wilson
- Reboot II - Released November 15th
Honorable Mentions:
- "I Had Some Help" - Post Malone & Morgan Wallen
- "PSYCHO" - HARDY
- "push me over" - Maren Morris
- "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" - Shaboozey
- "I Don't Wanna Dance" - Kassi Ashton
- "No Caller ID" - Megan Moroney
- "Relapse" - Warren Zeiders
- "Ain't in Kansas Anymore" - Miranda Lambert
