Anytime that I tell someone that's not from Michigan that I took a trip to Downtown Detroit, I always get a look of shock and concern. Yes, there are definitely areas that are considered dangerous, but there are also some areas that are not what you'd expect. There are all sorts of fun concerts, performances, festivals, casinos, bars, sporting events, restaurants, markets, etc. that deserve a visit!
