Caitlin Clark’s Never-Before-Seen Shoes Are a Real ‘Monster’
Nike has gotten a lot of grief, and rightly so, about not releasing a Caitlin Clark signature shoe. But you have to give them credit for creativity, as Clark debuted a never-before-seen PE colorway during Sunday's Indiana Fever game against Dallas.
I was unable to catch the Fever game on TV Sunday, so I hit YouTube last night to catch some of the highlights. As I watched Caitlin Clark and the Fever carve up the Dallas Wings 102 to 83, I couldn't help but notice that Clark was wearing a shoe color I'd never seen her wear before. It turns out that she was debuting a never-before-seen colorway of the Nike Kobe 6 called the 'Cookie Monster'.
Yes, you read correctly. Cookie Monster. As in "C is for cookie, and cookie is for me!" Sports Illustrated reports that it is unclear where the inspiration came from for the new exclusive colorway. Perhaps Caitlin grew up watching a lot of Sesame Street on PBS? The shoe features that unmistakable Cookie Monster color, fuzzy laces, and a brown and black tongue that reminds you of a cookie!
SI reports that Nike has yet to reveal if the cookie monster colorway that Clark wore Sunday will be released. Personally, I'm holding out for the Big Bird version. Imagine all those feathers!
