Eastern Iowa is Home to One of the Best Chicken Soups in the U.S.

There's nothing more comforting than a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and Iowa is home to one of the best!

A new article from the website Mashed used online reviews to put together a list of the restaurants across America that serve amazing chicken soup, and we're happy to report that an Eastern Iowa restaurant was recognized. According to the article, ReUnion Brewery in Coralville has one of the 13 best chicken soups in the entire U.S.!

ReUnion Brewery's chicken noodle soup contains the basics: house-made egg noodles, chicken bone broth, carrots, and celery, but there's also another fun addition that sets it apart! Mashed's article reads:

"The dish's grand flourish is an unexpected but completely welcome addition to the bowl: a heaping dollop of mashed potatoes. Whipped spuds are an all-time comfort food, but according to customers, plunging them into a flavorful broth is an inspired move that marries the best of both worlds. Smitten diners call the meal nothing short of amazing."

ReUnion Brewery has a couple of other delicious soups on their menu, too! There's the Spicy Chicken Tortilla, which contains spicy tomato broth and chicken topped with tortilla strips, guac, sour cream and cheddar cheese, as well as the Black Bean Soup.

All three of the soups above are available on the regular menu at ReUnion Brewery's Coralville location at 516 E 2nd Street. There's another ReUnion location in the Ped Mall in Iowa City, but the menu there is a bit different and doesn't offer any soups. If you want to check out the Coralville taproom, it's open from Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can check out the website HERE.
