Iowa Kids Design Funny Cedar Rapids T-Shirts for RAYGUN [PHOTOS]
These are too cute!
During a recent event at NewBo City Market, area kids were able to design their own Cedar Rapids-inspired t-shirts for a chance to have them turned into a REAL shirt by the company RAYGUN! Just last week (April 4th), the market revealed the winners of the competition, as well as their creative designs. Congratulations to Evelyn, Jayda, Tom, Allison, and Adelyn! You can check out their awesome shirts below:
The t-shirt contest with Raygun took place back on Saturday, March 16th during a STEAM Saturday. According to the event page, "STEAM Saturdays aim to captivate young minds by immersing them in the captivating world of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics." The events are sponsored by the McClure Foundation and Collins Aerospace, and they are free and open to the public. The next one is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th during EcoFest. The National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium will bring their Ocean Odyssey Touch Tank to NewBo to teach kids about the importance of sharks and rays. You can read more about the event HERE.
Not only did the kids who won the t-shirt contest get to see their designs come to life, but they also got their own shirts for free! All four of the shirts are on sale now at the Cedar Rapids RAYGUN and on the RAYGUN website HERE. Adult shirts are $24.95 each.
