Cedar Rapids Man Wins $5,000 on the KHAK Cash Code

When Gary McClure's cell phone rang Monday morning, he assumed it was another scam phone call. He tells me he gets a lot of them. Don't we all. This was no scam, though. Gary looked at his phone and saw the call was from KHAK. He pulled over, answered, and is he ever glad he did.

The call was from the KHAK morning team, Brain and Courtlin, with some fantastic news. Gary, of Cedar Rapids, was the latest winner on the Win Cash contest, the KHAK Cash Code. As you can see from the sign Gary's holding, that was a $5,000 phone call!

Gary tells us he'll probably use some of the money to purchase insulin, 'a necessary evil' as he called it. He may also donate some money to the Salvation Army or American Red Cross. Something tells me his lovely wife is also going to have an even better Christmas this year.
