
A Painful WNBA Season Comes to an End for Caitlin Clark
Indiana Fever and Cailtlin Clark fans were given a glimmer of hope this week. Clark had returned to the practice court. Sure, she wasn't cleared for contact yet, but surely the Fever star would ramp things up for a postseason return! That optimism was officially squashed last night.
Will Caitlin Clark Return to Play this Season?
The Indiana Fever officially ruled Clark out for the remainder of the WNBA season, according to ESPN. Caitlin took to social media last night to express her frustration and also thanked fans for all the support during a tough season.
What Injuries Did Caitlin Clark Suffer This Season?
It has been a painful season for the former Hawkeye. ESPN reports that Clark missed time initially with left quad and left groin issues. She returned to action before suffering a right groin injury on July 15th in the final minutes of a game against Connecticut. ESPN also confirmed that Clark then suffered a bone bruise in her left ankle during a workout in August. The injury bug simply wouldn't let up.
How Will the Fever Play Without Clark in the Playoffs?
First, the Fever have to MAKE the playoffs. ESPN reports that Indiana is currently battling Golden State, Seattle, and Los Angeles for one of three remaining playoff spots. The Fever have now lost five players for the season due to injuries, including Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colston, Aari McDonald, and Chloe Bibby.

Caitlin Clark will now have the entire offseason to focus on her health and get ready for next season. Make no mistake, the former rookie of the year will be back next year with a chip on her shoulder.
