Caitlin Clark’s New Nike Sneaker Is Almost Impossible to Buy

I'm a shoe guy. Always have been. I've loved the Jordan series of shoes growing up in the 90s, and even owned a couple of pairs. But no other basketball player moves the needle right now like Caitlin Clark. While Nike has yet to give us a signature shoe from Clark, we did get an exclusive Caitlin Clark release today in her favorite kind of Nike shoes.

Yesterday, Nike released a new commercial for a new version of the Kobe 5, in an exclusive Caitlin Clark colorway. Needless to say, Caitlin and Kobe share that 'Mamba Mentality' for winning.

Forbes reports that the new shoes hit the market today at 9 am Iowa time. You could only get them on the Nike SNKRS app. I actually tried to log on and grab a pair. But my app crashed due to the large number of people trying to buy a pair. As expected, they sold out in a matter of minutes! They retailed for $190. Yes, that is a lot of money to spend on shoes. But they are already selling for MUCH more on the secondary market.

Right now, my size on the shoe app GOAT is going for over $400! And they are only going to go up as they become harder to get! I was able to find this listing on eBay for a bargain price os $260!

While I love the Kobe series of shoes from Nike, as does Caitlin Clark, fans are desperately waiting for the Caitlin Clark signature shoe. Will we get it sometime in 2025? Only time will tell. Until then, have fun spending half a grand on the shoes that Clark wears on the court!
